Industrial PNG Customers - FAQ
1. What are the key charges associated with an Industrial PNG connection?
- PNG Infrastructure Security Deposit – Collected at the time of registration (refundable as per HOGPL terms & conditions).
- PNG Consumption Security Deposit– Equivalent to 31 days ’ consumption of Natural Gas by Industry. Collected before commissioning of gas supply.
2. What are the available payment options for industrial PNG bills?
Industrial PNG bills can be paid using:
a) RTGS/NEFT (Preferred for faster processing).
b) Cheque/DD in favor of HOGPL.
c) Online banking transfers to HOGPL ’s designated account
d) Through HOGPL ’s Website
3. What happens if I fail to pay my bill on time?
If payments are not made by the due date:
- Interest will be charged at SBI MCLR rate + 6.25% per annum.
- Gas supply may be disconnected after 7 days of non-payment.
4. What is the process for transferring an industrial PNG connection?
Ownership transfer requires:
- A written request for transfer.
- NOC from the existing owner.
- Updated company documents (GST, PAN, Lease Agreement, etc.).
- Payment of ₹250/- processing fee to HOGPL.
- Transfer is valid only if the premises and load remain unchanged.
5. Can an industrial customer use an existing LPG pipeline for PNG?
Yes. Customers however must:
- Consult a qualified downstream contractor to assess existing infrastructure.
- Modify the pipeline to comply with HOGPL and fire safety norms.
- Ensure compliance with PNGRB regulations.
6. What happens in case of a shutdown or maintenance activity?
- HOGPL schedules an annual shutdown for up to 30 days for maintenance.
- Customers must provide a 2-day prior notice for plant shutdowns.
- Emergency maintenance work is communicated in advance.
- Minimum Guaranteed Quantity (MGQ) is not applicable during planned shutdowns.
7. What if my plant is shut down due to unforeseen circumstances?
- Customers must immediately inform HOGPL about the shutdown.
8. How is the gas metering done?
- Gas is measured using calibrated industrial meters installed at the premises.
- Readings are adjusted for temperature and pressure correction.
- Fortnightly joint meter reading is conducted for billing purposes.
9. Can I resell or transfer my industrial PNG supply?
No. Customers cannot resell or transfer PNG supply to third parties. Violation may result in penalties or disconnection.
10. What safety guidelines must industrial customers follow?
- Appoint a qualified contractor for internal piping.
- Follow HOGPL’s safety and installation guidelines.
- Maintain emergency shut-off valves and leak detection systems
- Train employees on handling PNG safely.
- Report any gas leaks or system malfunctions immediately to HOGPL’s emergency contact.
11. What should I do in case of a gas leak?
- Turn off the main supply valve.
- Evacuate the area and restrict unauthorized access.
- Do not use electrical switches or flames.
- Call HOGPL’s emergency helpline immediately.
